Fill every table,
every night.
A hungry customer searches, glances at three results, checks the photos and the rating, and taps one. The whole thing takes under thirty seconds and happens on a map, before anybody has visited a website. Almost every restaurant marketing budget is spent somewhere else.
The decision happens in 30 seconds, on a phone
Someone decides they’re hungry, pulls out their phone, and searches “restaurants near me” or “[cuisine] near me.” Google shows a map with three results. They scan the star ratings and photos, check who’s open now, and tap the most appealing one, often within half a minute. No second visit, no comparison shopping.
So winning is simple to say and hard to do: be in that top 3, look the most appetizing, and make it one tap to book or order. That’s local SEO, reviews, photos and your Google profile working together: the exact system we build.
What a delivery order actually costs you
Four numbers, and you already have three of them. Work through it once and the case for direct ordering stops being a preference and becomes a calculation.
Take your average delivery order value from your own reporting, not an estimate. Then find the commission on it. Rates vary by platform and plan, so use the figure on your own statement, which is stronger than any published average because it is your number.
Multiply the two and that is what one order costs you in fee. Multiply that by your monthly delivery volume, then by twelve. That is the annual number, and it is usually larger than the entire marketing budget.
Direct ordering visible everywhere the platforms are, the profile and the site built so the direct route is the easy one, and the regulars nudged toward it rather than left on autopilot.
The point: nobody is suggesting you leave the platforms. They bring customers you would not otherwise reach. What the arithmetic argues for is that every order which could have been direct and was not is a fee you paid unnecessarily, and moving even a fraction of them changes the number materially.
What loses the tap
In the Map Pack, diners judge you on two signals before reading a single word. Below the top three you are not in the running at all, which is why local search for the searches that fill tables comes first.
Recency matters here more than almost anywhere, and so do hours. A customer who arrives at a closed restaurant leaves a review about it, so we keep hours, holidays and special closures current on the profile.
Photos that are old, dark, or uploaded by customers are the most common fixable problem in this vertical, and they decide the tap more than the rating does. The fix is a profile with photographs you control, and a social account that posts the food and the room rather than the menu: content that makes people hungry.

What the work looks like for a restaurant
Named case studies with verified metrics publish as each client approves them. Until then, here is the work.
A restaurant whose first image on the map was a dark customer upload. Seasonal photography on the profile changed what a diner sees before the rating.
A café collecting reviews from people who arrived to a closed door. Hours, holidays and closures now stay current on the profile.
A group sending every regular through the apps. Ordering links on the profile, the site and the social bio made the direct route the easy one.
